Coming to Selkirk in September 2024
Here there are some tips and a useful checklist of how and what to prepare before you arrive.
When you arrive, you will collect your card from the entrance of Selkirk Hall if you arrive on Saturday the 28th, or you will contact the telephone number provided on the door at the entrance if you arrive on a different day or outside your pre-booked arrival slot.
Which hall is Selkirk?
Selkirk Hall is the east-most hall of the three Southside Halls, which puts us in the south-east corner of Princes Gardens.
Arriving by car at Selkirk Hall?
You can arrive by car. At the gate tell Security you are check in the hall and they will let you access the gated pavement of Princes Gardens. There is no access to the halls through Princes Gate Mews.
Park you car in front of the Hall and unload all your stuff as quick as possible (15min) outside the hall, then ask the team for a park voucher and move your car into the main campus: there is one hour free park; after that, either you pay the extra time or park on public roads nearby.
Arriving by means other than a car?
If you are arriving by plane or train, take the underground to South Kensington Station (Piccadilly Line from Heathrow, also on Circle and District).
Check for tube updates here.
From South Kensington Tube Station it is easier to take the underground tunnel marked “To the museums”. Walk 5-10 minutes until the very end of that tunnel. When you take the stairs up out of the tunnel you will be on Exhibition Road . Cross the road and turn left. Proceed up along Exhibition Road. In about 10 m you will cross a small road called Princes Gate Mews. After another 20m you will come to a second small road. This is Princes Gardens and will be marked with Imperial College signs. Turn right and walk along this road. Selkirk Hall is the last entrance on your right.
If you are arriving by taxi, then get the driver to drop you off “On Exhibition Road, immediately opposite Imperial College Road, SW7 1BF”, and follow the above directions.
